The Pretender

Ahh, workin' away at this project for guitar class, though, all Im really doing is listening to a song over and over again.. and basing my analysis on it. Which is kinda awesome if you think about it. What other class would you be able to do something like this in... MATH?! Haha unlikely. Well, so far I've been listening to "The Pretender" by the Foo Fighters from their new album, "Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace." Which, just from this song alone, I'm wanting to go and buy the album. The Foo's have had a lot of awesome hits over the years, even when I was 7 and wasn't really into anything, I still remember listening to them. The Pretender, in my opinion is linked directly to Bush. It seems like the song is talking about how a leader sends his men to do all of the dirty work for him. Also, it talks about all of the enemies such as liberal and conservative, which is in the song. "Im what's left, Im what's right, Im the enemy." Just that message alone drives me to listen to the intensity of the song that the Foo Fighters have intentionally made to get to the general audience.
